In macOS option to remove spotify from menu bar

I use a MacBook Air. I have limited space in the menu bar. I see no need and no use for Spotify placing on icon there. I do not need this to use Spotify. Its placement in the menu bar means I cannot see other icons I need to see. Before I got my new MacBook Air I used to leave Spotify open so I could easily use it whenever I wanted. Now since the icon causes to see other icons I need to see I now close Spotify as soon as I am not using it. Please give an option for the Spotify icon not to appear in the menu bar as many other apps do.

I checked this on my system (also MacBook Air) but Spotify is not there in the menu bar, it is only present in the now playing tray as you can see in the below screenshot:

Could you please share a screenshot or screen recording of your Mac so I can take a closer look? 

To get rid of this you can open system settings → control centre → now playing (screenshot below).
